Congrats to my study/shopping partner Lisa who successfully defended her dissertation!!!  Despite being Halloween there wasn’t a single element of a horror story in her defense; her committee had all read her dissertation, the questions were interesting but not harsh and she had lots of friends (including me) there.  A model defense!
